Cora Chan

陳 秀慧

Cora Chan is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Hong Kong. She received her LLB, BSocSc and PCLL from the University of Hong Kong. She attended Brasenose College at Oxford, where she obtained the BCL and was awarded the Ralph Chiles CBE Award in Human Rights. She is a qualified solicitor in Hong Kong.

Cora’s main research interests are in constitutional theory and human rights law. She is currently working on a project concerning judicial deference in human rights adjudication. Her latest work on the subject was awarded the 2012 Society of Legal Scholars Best Paper Prize. Her recent works appeared in Legal Studies, Public Law, Asian Journal of Comparative Law and Hong Kong Law Journal. Cora teaches Constitutional Law and Administrative Law.

Cora is a member of the editorial boards of Hong Kong Law Journal and Asia-Pacific Journal on Human Rights and the Law.
