Song Hualin is an Associate Professor of Nankai University, China, where he teaches courses on administrative law, judicial review, selective readings in administrative law, and administrative regulation. He received his B.A. and his master degree from China Pharmaceutical University and his Ph.D. in Public Law from Zhejiang University. His study areas include comparative administrative law, Chinese administrative law, regulation theory, risk regulation, food and drug regulation, and standard-setting.

He has published more than forty papers in academic journals. He also translated several Western books into Chinese, including Partial Constitution, Regulation and Its Reform, Breaking the Vicious Circle: Towards More Effective Risk Regulation, Deregulation Taking and Regulatory Contract: The Competitive Transformation of Network Industries in the United States, etc.

In recent years, Song Hualin has been involved in food and drug regulation reform. He has served as Member of Expert Group of China Tobacco Control, Member of Pilot Working Group of Hospital Reform, Ministry of Health, Member of Advisory Committee in Stem Cell Clinical Study and Regulation, and Research Fellow of China Food Safety Law Research Center.
