Jud Mathews

Jud Mathews is an Assistant Professor at Penn State University’s Dickinson School of Law. He writes primarily in the fields of administrative law and constitutional law. Professor Mathews received his undergraduate degree in history from Princeton University, and his law degree from Yale Law School. After law school, he worked as a law clerk for Judge Guido Calabresi on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit before beginning his Ph.D. in political science at Yale University. Prior to joining Penn State Law, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois College of Law. The articles on proportionality analysis Professor Mathews wrote with Alec Stone Sweet will be appear this summer in Spanish translation as a book published by the Externado University of Colombia.
